Facts About Anne Frank
Anne Frank, a German-Dutch diarist of Jewish heritage, was one of the most storied victims of the Holocaust. She is well-remembered for documenting her life from 1942 to 1944, as German forces occupied the Netherlands during World War II.
Her father handed her the famous diary on her 13th birthday on June 12, 1942, but she began writing it on June 14. She nicknamed it ‘Kitty’ and wrote two versions of it. The last entry in the first diary was dated December 5, 1942. On the other hand, the first entry in the other diary was dated December 22, 1943, creating the impression that she might have lost other entries along the way. Her diaries inspired several movies, including The Diary of Anne Frank, The Last Seven Months of Anne Frank, Anne Frank Remembered, and many more. Her diary gained international fame, having been published as the now-famous book The Diary of a Young Girl.
She is believed to have died in 1945 at Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in Poland after contracting typhus. It is believed that Anne died just a few weeks before the concentration camps under the Nazi regime were liberated by the allied forces.
Former Prime Minister of England Sir Winston Churchill played a pivotal role in the fall of Germany under Hitler. To honor his legacy, here are some famous Winston Churchill quotes worth checking out.
