Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, respectfully called Babasaheb, was born on April 14, 1981, in Mhow (town and military cantonment). He was the first Indian who received doctorates in economics from Columbia University and the London School of Economics. He used to work as an economist, professor and lawyer, but later on, he became more inclined towards political activities.

Ambedkar actively started publishing journals and contributing significantly towards the social freedom and political rights of Dalits. He initiated Dalit Buddhist Movement by converting into Buddhism. He is known as the father of the Indian Constitution as he was the chairman of the Constituent Drafting committee and drafted the first constitution of Independent India. Ambedkar was also Independent India’s first Minister of Law and Justice. He has been posthumously conferred with Bharat Ratna.
